Barkhausen Noise Analysis

We use non-destructive Barkhausen Noise Analysis for grinding burn and heat treatment defect testing. During residual stress measurement, the sensor picks up the Barkhausen noise signal. This signal is analyzed and reported real time so that immediate action can be taken to avoid – or minimize – possible process deviations.

Barkhausen Noise Analysis systems by Stresstech can be used for a wide range of steel components. They can be used to measure and analyse stress modifications in the following processes:

Hole Drilling (PRISM)

PRISM by Stresstech is an advanced hole drilling system that dramatically improves the ability to make quick and accurate residual stress measurements. Requiring minimal sample preparation, this method does away with the often time-consuming use of strain gauges, required when using conventional systems.

PRISM optically measures surface distortion using laser light that is diffusely reflected from the sample surface. This is known as electronic speckle pattern interferometry, or ESPI. PRISM software collects and analyses all relevant data real time, enabling you to fine-tune your process where necessary.
